Kaua'i- Land and Growth
This gallery explores the landscapes of Kauaʻi, moving from the steep cliffs and open water of the Nā Pali Coast to the dense, cultivated spaces of the island’s botanical gardens. Photographs along the Kalalau Trail and at Kalalau Beach trace a coastline shaped by erosion, rainfall, and time, where scale and exposure define both the terrain and the experience of moving through it.
Transitioning inland, cultivated gardens reflect a different relationship with the land — one shaped by care, intention, and long-term stewardship. Together, these environments reveal an island defined by water and growth, where wild geology and human cultivation exist not in contrast, but as parallel expressions of persistence, adaptation, and respect for place.
