Winter Birds

This collection showcases the beautiful winter birds that can be found in southern NY. Although eagles can be found year round there, a great number of them migrate to this area for the winter. My theory is that this is south enough that there are consistent bodies of open water in this area; the Hudson River being the most consistent as it almost never entirely freezes at the southern end. Even if it does, the USCG has a tugboat to clear a path north and that can be used by the eagles for fish.
