Maritime Lifestyle and Tall Ship

Sailing has always been my greatest passion and I had the opportunity to study abroad on a 135' tall ship, the Sailing School Vessel or SSV Robert C. Seamans, for 6 weeks starting and ending in Auckland, NZ. For 4 of those weeks we sailed in open ocean with no land in sight aside from 2 different islands weeks apart for a combined total of 72 hours. We also only saw 1 other ship while at sea for a month. We studied the ocean in a variety of ways from eddies to microplastics and much in between.
