Maritime- Racing

This is a collection from a few different sailing races, the most famous being the Volvo Ocean Race or VOR (now called The Ocean Race). The VOR is a round-the-world race stopping in 10 or so ports after a long leg lasting numerous weeks sailing non-stop at sea. Newport, RI, has been one of the stops since 2014 and before they head off back to sea they do an inshore race which you will see here.
One of the others was a race I participated in from Stamford CT, around Block Island, and back, which took us about 27 hours. That race was right after a course I took to gain experience as an onboard reporter, a journalist/photographer position that started with the VOR and has expanded since. The final race was during that course to get first hand experience with guidance/feedback from someone who has been an onboard reporter during a VOR.
